Which IT Course Should I Do After Matric or FSc? (2026 Guide)
Confused which IT course to do after Matric or FSc in Pakistan? Pick your route first — earn fast (freelancing), get hired (software house), or add a skill to your degree — then match a course, with real fees, honest time-to-income and how to spot a fake institute.

You have finished Matric or FSc, and everyone has an opinion about what you should do next. Some say go to university, some say "seekh lo koi computer course", and some tell you freelancing is the answer to everything. It is genuinely confusing — and choosing wrong wastes both money and a year of your life. This guide cuts through it honestly: what an IT course can and cannot do for you in Pakistan, which skill fits which goal, how long it really takes to earn, and how to make sure the institute and its certificate are real. No hype — just a clear way to decide.
First, pick your route — not your course
The mistake most students make is choosing a course name before choosing a goal. Start the other way round. After FSc, there are really three sensible routes, and the right course depends entirely on which one you are on.
Route 1 — Earn fast (freelancing)
You want income in months, not years — maybe to support your studies or your family. Freelancing on Fiverr and Upwork, or local client work, is the fastest route to a first payment. It rewards one clear, sellable skill: design, video editing, SEO, content, or a focused development skill. It is not "easy money" — the first few months are about building a profile and portfolio — but it is the shortest path to your first earning.
Route 2 — Get hired (job in a software house)
You want a stable salary and a career ladder. Software houses in Pakistan hire for real engineering skills — web and mobile development, and increasingly AI. This route takes longer to pay off than freelancing, but the ceiling is much higher, and a job teaches you on real projects with a team. If you enjoy building things and can commit to learning properly, this is the strongest long-term route.
Route 3 — Stay on the university track and add a skill
You are doing (or about to start) a BS degree and do not want to abandon it. Smart move: a degree plus one practical skill beats either alone. A short evening or weekend course in a skill like SEO, graphic design or an AI tool means you graduate with something you can actually sell — while your classmates graduate with only a transcript.
Match your route to a course
Here is how the courses at our academy map to each route, with an honest note on how long before you can realistically earn. "Time to first income" assumes you practise seriously between classes — the course gives you the skill; consistency turns it into money.
For Route 1 — Earn fast (freelancing)
- Freelancing Mastery — the direct one: how Fiverr and Upwork actually work, profiles, proposals, client handling. Best paired with a delivery skill below. Time to first income: 2–4 months.
- SEO Mastery — businesses everywhere need Google ranking; steady freelance and local demand. Time to first income: 2–4 months.
- Graphic Designing and UI/UX with Figma — logos, social media designs and app screens sell well to local and international clients.
- Video Editing and AI Video Creation — video is the most in-demand content format right now; editors are booked out.
- Content Writing — a good starting skill if you write well in English; pairs naturally with SEO.
For Route 2 — Get hired (software house)
- Full Stack Web Development — the broadest hiring skill; front-end and back-end together. Time to job-ready: 6–12 months of serious work after the course.
- Front-End with React — if you like the visual, interface side of the web.
- Flutter Mobile App Development — one codebase for Android and iOS; strong demand.
- Python Programming — the best first language, and the door to AI and data work.
- Cyber Security and AI Mastery — advanced fields with rising demand; better once you have some programming basics.
For Route 3 — Add a skill alongside your degree
Any of the shorter courses work here, because they fit around class timetables. Popular choices are SEO, Digital Marketing, UI/UX Design, and AI Apps for Professionals — the last one teaches you to use AI tools to do real work faster, which is useful in almost any field.
If you are starting from zero and are not sure computers are for you yet, the Basic Computer Course is the safe first step before committing to a specialised skill.
What it costs and how long it takes
Real fees, from our current course list. Courses run as 4–14 week hybrid batches (attend on campus in Athara Hazari or join online), and fees can be paid in installments.

How to choose an institute (and avoid wasting money)
This matters as much as the course. Every year students pay a fake or careless "institute" and get nothing usable. Before you pay anyone — us included — check these:
- Is the certificate verifiable? A real certificate can be checked online. Ours carry a unique ID and QR code that anyone — including an employer — can confirm on our verification page. If an institute cannot prove its certificate is genuine, treat that as a red flag.
- Who teaches? Ask whether instructors actually work in the field. Our courses are taught by engineers who also build client projects — so you learn what the market really uses, not just theory.
- Are the fees transparent? A clear published fee and an installment option are good signs. Vague "call for price" pricing usually hides a hard sell.
- Can you study locally? You should not have to move to Faisalabad or Lahore for a good IT course anymore. A hybrid batch lets you attend on campus in Athara Hazari, Jhang or join the same class online.
- Is there support after class? The course is the start, not the finish. Ask what help you get while you build a portfolio or look for work.
The honest truth about time and money
No course makes you rich in 30 days — anyone promising that is selling a dream. What a good course does is compress months of confused self-study into a structured 1–3 months, and put you next to someone who has already done the work. After that, your income depends on how consistently you practise and apply. Students who treat the course as a starting line and keep going usually see first freelance income within a few months; a software-house job takes longer but pays and teaches more. Both are realistic from Jhang — plenty of people are already doing it.
